It's A Boy!!!!

Josiah Thomas, 6 lbs. 14 oz., made his speedy entry into the world at 8:30 am this morning! He came after about 24 hours (give or take) of the lovliest labor, in one push over an intact perineum. He cried and pinked up almost immediately. More details to come later. We are both resting and doing very well. I did get a shot of pit for bleeding but nothing major. I appreciate all the love, support and well wishes received through this blog. Thanks everyone for your comments of support- they really did make the labor extra special! Blessings to you all.

Wow, Wow, and Wow. In a way, I am jealous that you get to experience that euphoric moment again; immediately after birth when you know you have truly accomplished something profound, and it's just you and your baby. I know it's been hard to adjust to, but I consider you extremely blessed in so many ways and am grateful to be considered your friend. You are a wonderful woman and mentor. Please pass on to Josiah our hearfelt welcome. The crew are all glad it is a boy, LOL. Enjoy him. I mean really enjoy him. And blessings to the rest of the family also.

Love, Karen

Finally a boy!!! You are lovely so I am sure he will be too. I took a breath in and out for you today in my Autumn sweat lodge with my tribal elders. I asked for a smooth delivery but it was around noon so maybe it was delivery of lunch! I know you enjoyed this birth, especially since it WAS THE LAST ONE!!!

Love,
Rebecca

I am so happy for you & your family! Congratulations!! I have been following your blog/story for weeks now and had been checking in regularly for updates...it's actually 12:07 am & I'm just home from "girl's night out" where we spent a good deal of time talking about what?....birth. Enjoy that little bum that fits into the palm of your hand & that intoxicating newborn smell. Blessings to you all.

Congratulations, Sherry and All,

It's such a privilege to know you and to feel like I have actually participated in helping that baby boy to be born.

I feel that he is a very special child and will bless the world with his talents.

I hope that I will be able to meet him and to watch him grow.

You're doing a great service by posting all the stories and pictures here - I don't know you, but I appreciate your effort to save women from unnecessary C-sections and horrible childbirths. If even one woman is inspired to take control of her life and body because of you, it will be a great deed!

Congrats on Josiah! He's gorgeous!

Thanks to everyone for your lovely thoughts. I am thrilled and over the moon with joy! Josiah is truly heaven-sent. I am humbled to be the vessel of his arrival. For those wishing to bring meals, they are being coordinated by Liza Linhardt at Cornerstone Church. Thanks again to you all- we are blessed to be enveloped in so much love and support.
